Changes to Overdraft Services
What's not changing?
You won't pay an overdraft fee when you use your debit card to make everyday purchases and you don't have enough money in your account for the transaction. Instead, your purchase is declined and you don't pay a fee.
What is changing?
When you write a check or make an electronic payment and you don't have enough money in your account for the transaction, you'll pay an overdraft item fee regardless of the amount your account is overdrawn.
If you overdraw your account by any amount, we charge a $35 Overdraft Item Fee for each item (maximum four item fees per day).
If you have Overdraft Protection and you overdraw your account, you'll pay a $10 Overdraft Protection Transfer Fee when we transfer funds from your linked savings account, checking account to cover an overdraft of any amount (maximum one transfer fee per day).
When?
This will begin effective June 27, 2011.
Is there a way to reduce the Overdraft Item fee?
You can avoid the Overdraft Item fee by signing up for Overdraft Protection. With Overdraft Protection we'll transfer available funds from your linked account. There will be a $10 Overdraft Protection Transfer fee charged at the end of the day, but this $10 fee is typically less than the Overdraft Item fee.
